Greetings from Trevor Easton
I'd like to tell you a little bit about my website, accelerated learning and about myself.
Let me share with you my philosophy for learning. Here are the simple concepts that I use to inspire and expedite my learning pathways.
I learn with these four principles in mind.
LEARNING IS A GIFT
Learning should be fun. It is a wonderful gift not a chore. Looking at learning through these glasses opens to you a world that not all are privileged to be able to see or experience. If you don’t understand something it is not a problem. It is an opportunity to learn and open a gift.
LEARN WITH PURPOSE
What I am learning must produce something useful. For example; a program that others can use to save time, a file that speeds work timeframe a beautiful poster conveying an inspirational message.
SAVING TIME AND RESOURSES
The result of my learning projects must save me or others time and or resources. When I learn I am investing time, energy, emotions and resources. That investment should accrue interest. It should save me time and do the same for others who are the beneficiaries of my learning projects. You will also become a learning resource for others.
I must be able to link or grow my knowledge on the subject so as to see personal improvement. This is cohesive learning. Each piece of information should lock or snap to another piece of information. Your confidence and expertise rises to new heights as your learning framework grows.
The articles and office tutorials presented in this blog post will cover topics that are in harmony with these four principles.
When we learn to play an instrument at first progress is often slow. Until we can play our first tune learning music is just a bunch of notes. When we master our first piece it is often like someone has switched on the lights. Now it is music to our ears. It is pleasant and rewarding. Our excitement for learning grows expediential. We become eager to learn more and more. We may even go on to greater things like composing music. We can light up others emotions with our musical talents.
So the point is this; when we can produce something useful or achieve an outcome from our learning that inspires others our learning becomes exciting and grows enormously.
I watch my grandchildren play with Lego. At first it is just blocks all over the floor but when they have built a helicopter or a house they get excited. “Look Poppy”, “Look Poppy” my little grandson yells to me showcasing his completed project.
The articles presented in this blog post will be with the purpose of not just showing you how to do something, but helping you to create something that hopefully will inspire you to further learning. Lighting up your pathway of learning.
I have a real passion for learning and development and helping others to progress in their skills. Last year I created the website www. AOTraining.net and posted 135 video office tutorials specific to users of Microsoft Office.
It is my goal through this website to be able to pass along to others many of the tips and tricks that I've learned over the years. I hope my enthusiasm can in some small way inspire you to keep learning new skills.
I have the privilege of working with software programs each day. That's what I do for a living. That’s true for some of my day I get paid to do what I love.My main hobby is programming in Visual Basic for Applications and I have written scores of programs and applications that continue to be in use today.
What I have learned is this.
That the more that you know the more you realize how little you know. The computer world is massive and that best we can only focus on a small niche. For me, that has been Microsoft Office and programming in Visual Basic for Applications. I am a Microsoft certified professional with certifications in Microsoft Word expert 2010, Excel expert 2010, PowerPoint 2010 and Access 2010.
Learning is a two way street. If you can pass on any tips that you may have that would be great. That is why this sight is set up as a blog. If I can help you in your learning path in some small way then I will feel my time spent with onlinepclearning.com has been a success.
